I never get tired of views like this especially on days like when I took this picture earlier this year. The scene constantly changes before your eyes with bits of mountains disappearing and reappearing moments later.

Having learnt to ski at the grand old age of 27 (!) I wouldn't have ever thought I would be able to go 'off-piste'. It's not something I get to do very often, the conditions have to be 'right'. I love being away from the crowd where there are few signs of infrastructure.
Last year we did a short run from the top of the mountain back down to the valley, a route the locals rattle down in double quick time. The day I got to go the landscape was so beautiful with snow wind blown into all sorts of magical shapes and patterns, I had to stop every 5 minutes to take a picture or 10! It took a very long time to get to the valley floor!

I love walking in the woods at anytime of the year. In the winter when the trees are bare the shapes of the trunks and branches against the sky are what catch my eye. In the winter there is more of a feeling of light and space especially on a bright clear day.
