On my trip to the mountains I seemed to surrounded by water in one form or another mostly lakes, waterfalls, rivers and a fair bit of snow. This picture surprised me when I processed it. The sun was right behind the top of the waterfall, so parts were really, really dark with loads of contrast. When I put the pictures into LR and lifted the shadows I realised the rocks were covered in golden lichen. When I took it I thought this was going to be a mono image, I'm glad I had it in RAW and not mono!

Over the last few days I've managed to get out and photograph some local colour but whilst I sort and process some of those pictures I'll share a few more pictures from Italy.

As I've said before I loved being around the lake harbours, there were so many things to see and photograph. These little flowers clung on to the harbour walls adding a little colour to the hard grey stone walls. This one was taken first thing in the morning before the street lights went out.

Another picture from Lake Como. I loved watching the reflections in the beautiful blue water, so hypnotic and relaxing.
