The start of September has really brought a change in the weather. I'm still hoping for some sunny days but you can tell autumn is just around the corner. Over the last few years I've spotted some of these huge 'dandelion clocks' appearing in the fields locally. I believe they are called Jack-go-to-bed-at-noon, meadow salsify, showy goat's-beard or meadow goat's-beard. Whatever they are called, I think they're rather lovely!
