Summer orchid
I usually sort my pictures on rainy days but we haven't had much rain in the last month so I have been out and about making pictures rather than selecting and processing. Now I am a bit behind and need to catch up and share with some pictures with you.
I photographed this little orchid hiding in the grass at the beginning of June, it was just starting to open and I loved the way the stem curved. When I spot orchids I really feel summer is here.

I have taken so many pictures of flowers this month but I need some time to sort them out and choose some favourites so I thought I might share some pictures from this time last year. As I've said before, I am hopeless at recording the names of the flowers I have photographed (must try harder to do that! I think this might be Lilium pardalinum or the Leopard lily, it was hiding in a wooded area of the garden in between some ferns and a few foxgloves.
Little blue flower
I do love photographing in winter but I must admit I also love it when the flowers return in spring. I found these little blue flowers whilst on holiday in the Alps. There were lots of them dotted around a steep slope under trees which led to lots of fun trying to balance at silly angles and photograph them!
Bluebell trio
It's been a wonderful bluebell season as ever although I didn't get out as much as I would like. I did manage a wonderful afternoon with my photo buddies last Sunday in the woods photographing bluebells and the trees, what could be better!

Bluebell season or should that be pinkbell?!
It's been a busy few weeks and finally I have some time to get out and about with my camera. Here's a picture of a little pinkbell from my garden from last year whilst I work on some new pictures.
I hope everyone in the UK is having a lovely Bank Holiday and enjoying the typically damp Bank Holiday weather!
