Sunny fog in Venice

I was soooo lucky during my trip to Venice earlier this year to experience some beautiful weather. I hoped for fog but I didn't expect sun and fog at the same time, it was magical, it made the Venetian colours sing and some of my favourite pictures from the trip were taken on those days. Here's a trio of images taken in these conditions, I love the mix of the blues with the warmer orange colours.

Wiggly Venice reflections
One of the things I loved about Venice was the reflections in the water. The buildings and boats created brightly coloured reflections, contrasting with the blue water. There are not many trees in the heart of Venice but around the Biennale Gardens there are lots of green spaces and trees. This is a reflection of a tree on the edge of that garden and I love the fluid lines and harmonious colours.
Ranunculus
I've not yet had a chance to get out and about to photograph many spring flowers, this is a picture from last year. I loved the layers and layers of petals of this little white Ranunculus plant which I had in a pot on my windowsill. I had a plant with multi coloured flowers this spring but I'm still deciding how to process the pictures of that beauty.
A taste of Venetian architecture

The first few pictures of architecture from Venice. I loved all the buildings in Venice and in particular those around St Mark's square where these are from. I loved the pale stone and the wonderful shapes and patterns. I could have spent the whole of my week just photographing in and around St Mark's Square. Passion flower
Happy Easter! Sorry, I'm a day late! I thought I would share a picture of a passion flower for Easter. The passion flower is linked in Christianity to the Passion of Christ and parts of the flower symbolise different things within the Easter story.
