Another picture from an early morning walk in the woods. Many of our woods are 'man made', they're commercial forests with trees grown in rows, which in some ways I find a bit odd but in between the regimented bits nature does her own thing. I loved this silver birch shining in the sun at the end of a long corridor of dark trees, definitely crying out for a picture.

It only seems a short while ago I was longing for the spring flowers to arrive and now, already, some have been and gone. One of my favourites this year was Amelanchier - or at least that's what I think it's called. Our local woods are full of it and there was a week when it was just glorious, but now it's gone and there are new flowers just starting to burst out, there's always something lovely to enjoy.

The bluebells are now here properly now so I thought I'd jump on the train of bluebell pics. I've managed to spend a couple of early mornings in the woods, it's so lovely being there as the sun comes up, listening to the birds singing, just wandering around the edge of the flowers with my camera.
