One of the signals that summer has properly arrived is the poppies bursting into life. I found this one on a sunny morning after a showery night, I just loved the combination of the raindrops and that lovely green background.

Flower season is well and truly upon us and my hard drive is bursting with pictures waiting to be sorted and processed. I love these little wild roses that appear all over the local hedgerows in early summer. They don’t last long, soon the petals will drop and the flowers will be replaced by shiny red rosehips.

Another picture from Bushy Park. As well as the huge Deer Park there is are three areas of managed garden which are often overlooked. This image was taken in the Waterhouse Plantation where there are a couple of ponds and a wide variety of plants and wildlife in amongst glorious mature trees, I have to admit it’s my favourite area of Bushy Park.
